Rules & Guidelines 

Welcome to Elevate Eisteddfod! To ensure a fair and enjoyable experience for all participants, please read the following rules and guidelines carefully.

Performance Rules:

Song Selection
  • Songs must be selected and submitted during registration.

  • Once submitted, songs cannot be changed.

  • If multiple competitors select the same song, priority will be given to the first submission received.

  • Any affected competitors will be contacted and required to choose an alternative song.

Performance Time Limit

  • Performances must not exceed 4 minutes.

  • Performers are responsible for editing their backing tracks to meet the time limit.

  • Elevate Eisteddfod reserves the right to deduct points, fade out the backing track, or stop a performance that exceeds the time limit.

Backing Tracks

  • All backing tracks must be submitted in MP3 format.

  • Backing vocals are permitted.

  • Lead vocal tracks (ghosting/doubling of the main vocal) are strictly prohibited.

  • All lead vocals must be performed live.

  • Backing tracks must be clearly labelled with:

    • Competitor's Full Name

    • Category

    • Age Division

    • Song Title

Example:
John Smith – Contemporary Performance – 12 Years & Under – Titanium

 

Performance Content

  • Elevate Eisteddfod is a family-friendly event.

  • Profanity, offensive language, racial slurs, discriminatory language, and sexually explicit content are not permitted.

  • Songs containing explicit language must use a clean or edited version.

  • Performers are responsible for ensuring all lyrics, music, costumes, choreography and performance content are appropriate.

  • Elevate Eisteddfod reserves the right to deduct points, disqualify, or stop any performance that does not comply with these requirements.

Preparation & Performance

  • Competitors are encouraged to showcase their individuality, creativity and stage presence.

  • Performers should arrive prepared and ready to present their best performance.

General

  • All decisions made by Elevate Eisteddfod management and adjudicators are final.

  • By registering, competitors and their parent/guardian (where applicable) agree to abide by these rules and conditions.

Evaluators Criteria:

Performances will be evaluated on the following criteria:

  • Vocal Technique – pitch, tone, control, and execution of the performance.

  • Stage Presence – confidence, connection with the audience, and charisma.

  • Stage Movement – effective use of the stage and body language.

  • Energy and Conviction – the passion and commitment to the performance.

  • Overall Vocal Performance – the impact and cohesiveness of your performance.

Ticketing Guidelines:

Mission Support:

All ticket proceeds directly support the mission of Elevate Eisteddfod to reinvest in future events and ensure the ongoing success of this initiative. This includes:

  • Covering event production costs (prizes, advertising, awards, staff, venue hire, audio and visual hire, and any required licenses).

  • Enhancing opportunities for performers in the Sydney metropolitan and Northern Beaches areas.

Additionally, vocal coaches of performers are invited to attend the event free of charge as part of our commitment to fostering a supportive and enriching environment for all participants.

Non-Refundable Policy:

  • Tickets are non-refundable upon purchase due to their role in funding the mission and covering event costs.

  • Please ensure you can attend before purchasing tickets.

Ticket Purchase:

  • Tickets can be purchased online via our website or at the venue (subject to availability).

  • Audience members must retain their tickets for entry and re-entry to the event.

Audience Etiquette:

  • Audience members are asked to respect all performers by refraining from talking or making noise during performances.

  • Children must be supervised at all times.

Event Day Guidelines:

Check-In:

  • Performers must check in at the registration desk 30 minutes before their category starts to confirm their attendance.

Performance Order:

  • The order of performances will be announced at check-in. Please be ready when called to perform.
     

Attire:

  • Performers are encouraged to dress in a way that enhances their performance and aligns with their chosen song.

Audience Etiquette:

  • Audience members are asked to respect all performers by refraining from talking or making noise during performances.

Awards and Feedback:

Awards:

  • Awards will be presented for standout performances in each category based on the evaluators criteria.

 

Feedback:

  • Performers will receive individual feedback from the evaluators to support their growth and development as artists.

Additional Notes:

Recording & Photography:

  • By attending Elevate Eisteddfod events, participants and their families consent to being photographed and/or filmed . These images and recordings may be used for promotional, archival, and social media purposes related to Elevate Eisteddfod. All media remains the property of Elevate Eisteddfod and may be used across platforms without further consent or compensation. Images and videos from the eisteddfod will be available for purchase.

Liability:

  • Elevate Eisteddfod is not responsible for any loss or damage to personal belongings during the event.

Code of Conduct:

  • All participants and audience members are expected to maintain a respectful and positive attitude throughout the event. Any inappropriate behavior may result in disqualification or removal from the venue.

​Child Safe Procedure:

  • Elevate Eisteddfod is committed to providing a safe and supportive environment for all participants, particularly children and young people. Our Child Safe Procedure ensures that all staff, volunteers, and event personnel adhere to strict guidelines to prioritize the safety and wellbeing of minors. This includes mandatory Working with Children Checks for relevant personnel, clear protocols for supervision, and a zero-tolerance policy towards any form of misconduct. Parents and guardians are encouraged to familiarize themselves with these procedures to help us maintain a secure and enjoyable environment for everyone.
